Standards for Scottish Solicitors

The aim of the standards project  is to better articulate to the public and profession the standards currently expected of Scottish solicitors.

Part of that process is to make the conduct standards into practice rules. The profession  approved the attached rules at the Society's SGM on Friday 26 September 2008.

The standard of conduct  are based on the current Code of Conduct and will replace the Code when they come into effect on 1 January 2009.

Also attached is a paper on standards of service which the profession adopted at the SGM.
