Home Report Seminars

These seminars sponsored by the Scottish Government held in May/June 2008 reached an audience of over 1100 Solicitors including 400 in Glasgow alone.

The Society made its position in relation to Home Reports and the representations which it has made to the Scottish Government clear at these seminars. The deep concerns among the profession regarding the implementation of Home Reports, particularly in the difficult trading climate at present, continue to be communicated to Government.

There was considerable feedback in relation to the proposed Guidance Topics and at least two of the proposals will not likely be proceeded with as a consequence. The Society is indebted to its members for this feedback.

For the avoidance of doubt the Scottish Government remain completely committed to a 1st December launch and this commitment was reiterated in a Parliamentary statement on 26th of June 2008.

The Society propose a further series of in-depth seminars and workshops in September 2008 and members should watch out for details of that in due course.
