In-House Lawyers Group – Introduction

The In-House Lawyers Group represents the interests of Scottish solicitors employed in public service and commerce, around 27% of practitioners. It also works through the Society to improve and strengthen the links between in-house lawyers and solicitors in private practice. The group comments on proposed legislation and other matters which may affect in-house lawyers and encourages and develops the training of ILG solicitors.

Close links with the Society of Local Authority Lawyers and Administrators in Scotland (SOLAR) , Scottish Young Lawyers Association (SYLA) and other similar organisations are also maintained.

This part of the website has been developed specifically for in-house lawyers. It contains general information about ILG, its constitution and the services it provides. There is also a news page which is updated regularly. On-line booking for ILG Courses and Seminars is available.
