Styles
(a) Style of Arbitration Clause
Parties may refer to these Rules in their contracts in which event the following clause should be used:
Any dispute or difference arising out of or relating to this contract, its interpretation or the breach thereof, shall be settled by arbitration before an Arbiter selected and appointed by the President or Vice-President for the time being of the Law Society of Scotland from the panel of Arbiters maintained by the Law Society of Scotland and conducted in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Law Society of Scotland current at the date of the appointment of the Arbiter; and we consent to registration hereof for preservation and execution.
(b) Style of Submission
We, the undersigned parties, hereby agree to submit to arbitration under the Arbitration Rules of the Law Society of Scotland (hereinafter 'the Rules') the following dispute(s):

We further agree that the said dispute(s) be settled by Arbitration before an Arbiter selected and appointed by the President or Vice-President for the time being of the Law Society of Scotland from the panel of Arbiters maintained by the Law Society of Scotland and conducted in accordance with the Rules. We further agree that we will faithfully observe this agreement and the Rules and that we will abide by and perform any award issued by the Arbiter who shall have all the powers set out in the Rules; and we consent to registration hereof and of all awards, interim, partial and final to follow hereon for preservation and execution. (c) Style of Agreement
We, the undersigned parties, hereby agree that the Arbitration between us shall be conducted under the Arbitration Rules of the Law Society of Scotland.
NOTE: Attention is drawn to the Guidance Notes on the Rules opposite, particularly with regard to the operation of section 3(l) of the Administration of justice (Scotland) Act 1972.
