Scottish Law Commission

The Scottish Law Commission was set up by the Law Commissions Act 1965.  Its purpose is to recommend reforms to improve, simplify and update the law of Scotland.  This involves examining whole areas of law and making recommendations to improve them which often necessitates public consultation to ensure that their recommendations are both workable and acceptable.
