Consultations

The Society develops consultation responses to proposals for changes in the law, which come from a variety of sources, including the Scottish Government, Scottish Parliament, the UK Government, the Houses of Parliament and the European Commission, as well as government agencies. The Society also submits evidence on and amendments to a number of Bills in the Scottish and UK Parliaments which can be accessed on the right of the page.

Current Consultations

Current consultations of interest to the Society and the profession are available by source on the right of the page. The relevant Society Committee formulates a response to each consultation but if you would like to make any comments on a specific proposal then please contact the Society with your views at Consultations.

Archived Consultation Responses

Past consultation responses submitted by the Society are grouped by year of publication, which can be selected by clicking on the relevant year on the left of the page. Consultation responses in relation to specific areas of law can also be selected by clicking on the options on the right of the page in each year group.
