Money Laundering Regulations Dec 2007

Uk implementation of the third money-laundering directive will be effective 15th December 2007. Amongst a raft of changes there are 5 key changes:

•a move to a risk based approach
•a greater importance on identifying "beneficial ownership"
•more emphasis on the nature of the transaction
•a greater onus on firms to ascertain the exact source and nature of funds
•a real need to create, maintain, and review policy, procedures, training and other records
