The Law Society of Scotland is the professional body for Scottish solicitors and aims to lead legal excellence by being a world class professional body. As part of its long term strategy, we aim to communicate the views of our members and the clients they serve and to influence the creation of a fairer and just society by being an international centre of excellence in thought leadership.
To help do this, we have created a dedicated research unit within our staff team. The research executive will work closely with our Head of Research, helping us to better understand issues around the rule of law, access to justice, the legal services market as well as the views and opinions of our key audiences.
The successful candidate will help with regular audits of the research requirements of the organisation, undertake key research work and work with other partner organisations, suppliers and consultancies.
Candidates will possess a relevant degree, have highly developed oral and written skills and have a track record of carrying out quality research, both proactive and reactive. They must have excellent analytical skills and be able to review, absorb and distil information quickly.
Knowledge of the legal sector is highly desirable. Candidates must be enthusiastic, highly organised and able to work independently.
