The Student Benefit Scheme
This is a great time to start getting involved in the
profession. The Society has developed a programme of continuing
professional development specifically for new lawyers and every
seminar and event is included free of charge, as part of the
Student Benefit package. Whether you are interested in learning how
to manage your emails or would like to know about appearing in
court, there is a seminar for you.
CPD for New Lawyers
As a Student Benefit Subscriber, all CPD for new lawyers seminars are
free of charge. In 2010/2011, 32 CPD for new
lawyers events were held across Scotland. Typical courses include
learning how to network, how to progress your career, Sheriff
Court and Court of Session Procedure, and email management
training. Visit our website for details of upcoming CPD for new lawyers events.
Along with
the CPD for New Lawyers programme, the Student Benefit Scheme also
means you can attend our Update CPD courses at a discounted
rate (wherever possible), allowing you to meet members of the
profession and boost your CV.

FREE Journal magazine subscription
The Journal is the members' magazine for
the profession, out monthly to keep every solicitor in Scotland up

Extra package, you will receive a free copy of the Journal every

All Student Benefit Subscribers will receive a booklet of
lifetsyle benefits for their nearest city. This includes discounts
