Involvement and Feedback

The Society wants to ensure that its work conforms to legal standards and that it provides high quality and accessible services and employment opportunities. Involvement and feedback will help to ensure that the Society meets those objectives.

Involvement will include non-solicitor representation, the use of focus groups, consultation, user group feedback, expert advice, guidance from representative agencies and more.  A key method of involvement will be our Equality Forum (see below).

Feedback, suggestions, or requests to become involved are welcomed by any of the means outlined in the More Information and Contacts section.

EQUALITY FORUM
The Society is establishing a dynamic and forward-looking group to assist with equality and diversity work within the organisation and the profession as a whole. This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in a field of work that is vital to the future of the profession but through a forum that allows great flexibility over the way, and amount of time, that you contribute.

Recruitment is currently underway from Solicitor members (an information pack and application form are downloadable from the menu to the right of this screen) and in the near future recruitment will start for parallel membership of non-solicitors to advise on aspects of the Society’s work which impact more on the public (such as the information services we provide and our handling of complaints against solicitors). Click here to note your interest if you are a member of the public who would like to get involved.

The ‘Equality Forum’ will help the Society comply with legislation and best practice, as well as provide a positive contribution to the design of policy and new projects.
