The LLB is a great time to consider what your future career plans will be. No matter what your ambitions are, whether you want to pursue a career as a solicitor or not, it is important you use your time at university to help you stand out in your CV and application forms in the future.
In this section of the website, you can find out about the subjects you need to cover during the LLB in order to qualify as a solicitor, as well as information about the Diploma, traineeships and qualifying outwith Scotland by following the links below or on the left:
We have also developed checklists to help you ensure you are doing everything you can to help yourself when planning your career. For further information, have a look through the checklists for first year students, second and third year students/accelerated students; and final year students.
During the LLB we would encourage you to get involved with the work of the legal professional and consider volunteering for some of the ongoing projects run by the Society (such as our legal studies and careers events or the Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament). We would also recomend opting in to receive news and details of upcoming events from the Law Society.
