Solicitor Advocate Rights of Audience

Criminal

The criminal course takes place over three weekends, two of which are training weekends held at The Law Society of Scotland and include various talks and tutorials from both the bench and experienced solicitor advocates. There are also mock oral assessments with feedback, prior to the final assessments. The final assessments take place at the Criminal Appeal Court, Lawnmarket.

Course convener is John Keenan, Solicitor Advocate and Iain McSporran, Solicitor Advocate.

To apply, please download and complete the Criminal Rights of Audience application form.

Once you have submited your application form, you will be contacted and asked to complete the course registration form. Payment is required upon registration.

Civil

The civil course runs over three weekends and includes include various talks and tutorials from the Bench, the bar and experienced solicitor advocates. The last weekend forms the final assessment for oral submissions and you will be required to attend on one day only that weekend. The course includes mock oral assessments with feedback, prior to the final assessments.
