Scotland's Mental Health Act review

The Scottish Government has set up an independent group to carry out a limited review of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. The group has issued a consultation paper as one way of getting the views of those who have experience of the Act.

Draft guidance on adult protection committees

The Scottish Government has issued draft guidance under section 47 of the Adult and Protection Scotland) Act 2007, which requires councils to consider their responsibility to set up adult protection committees (APCs) as outlined in sections 42 to 46.

Scottish Government consultation on the code of practice for part I of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act

The Adult Support and Protection Act 2007 was passed by the Scottish Parliament in spring 2007. This code of practice fulfils the obligation placed on Scottish ministers by section 48 of the Act, to prepare a code of practice containing guidance about the performance of functions by councils and their officers and health professionals under the Act. This consultation seeks views on the code of practice.

Scottish Government call for comments on revised codes of practice to accompany the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000

The Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 made a number of changes to the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and the current codes of practice for attorneys, access to funds, guardianship and intervention orders and for local authorities have had to be revised to take account of these changes.
