OFT Consultation: Consumer Credit Act 1974 - Misleading or

The OFT is consulting on its approach to the notification of
names for inclusion on a consumer credit licence and the type of
names which will be considered misleading or otherwise
undesirable.
The consultation explains the provisions of the Act
relating to trading names, the processes involved in complying,
what needs to be notified, and the OFT's approach to misleading or
otherwise undesirable names, including its enforcement approach.

used in online trading. The OFT seeks comments on all aspects of
its analysis and proposals.

by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) on what the OFT would expect
from credit brokers and credit intermediaries when they are dealing
with prospective borrowers.
Draft OFT guidance for creditors, debt collectors, law firms
and other businesses engaged in recovery of consumer credit
debts
Specific Office of Fair Trading (OFT) guidance on debt
collection (OFT 664) was first published in 2003 and updated in
December 2006.
This consultation concerns the OFT's proposal to publish a revised
version of that guidance, updated to take account of market
developments, regulatory changes and other recently issued OFT
guidance and draft guidance currently out to consultation.
Consumer Redress for Misleading and Aggressive Practices
This was a joint consultation paper published by The Law
Commission and the Scottish Law Commission (SLC). This
consultation asked 'how far consumers should be given a right to
redress when a trader acts in a misleading or aggressive way, in
breach of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations
2008'.
