The In-House Lawyers' Group

The In-House Lawyers' Group (ILG) was established in 1973 as a non-regulatory, independent committee of the Society. The group is lead by a committee that represents and promotes the interests and status of in-house Scottish solicitors.

The group aims to develop and encourage the better training of solicitors, strengthen relationships between private practice solicitors and in-house lawyers, and comment on proposed legislation.  A fuller list of our work is provided at the end of this section.

Membership of the group is automatically granted free of charge to all solicitors employed in-house who are members of Society.

A programme of events and seminars is specifically targeted for ILG members; these are often arranged as video conferences to various locations throughout Scotland.

You can contact the group directly at ilg@lawscot.org.uk or on 0131 226 8887or through one of our ILG committee members.
