Membership and registrar

The membership and registrar team is primarily responsible for managing membership, the roll of solicitors, training contracts, entrance and admission and the Society's membership database. The team also administer a number of committees, sub-committees and working parties, which are made up of practitioners and academics who are experts in their respective fields.

Membership status and contact details

It is important to ensure that your contact details are up to date. Please let us know of any changes. In terms of section 8 (2) of the Solicitors (Scotland) Act 1980, members are obliged to advise the Society in writing of their business address and any change to that address.

The registrar team monitors members CPD records and gives advice and guidance in relation to compliance.

Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (SLCC) levy

The registrar team manages billing and recovery of the SLCC levy.
