Law Society of Scotland Chief Executive in running for national leadership award
The Law Society of Scotland Chief Executive Lorna Jack is in the running for a UK business award
Ms Jack is one of nine nominees for a Vistage UK & Ireland Leadership Award in the Passion category as a leader whose 'passion, thirst for excellence and hunger for learning and improvement inspired extraordinary employee performance, customer satisfaction and/or industry innovation'.
The awards honour leaders for their accomplishments in the business world and in their communities. There are 42 nominees across six award categories.
Lorna Jack, Chief Executive of the Law Society of Scotland, said: "I am thrilled to be in the running for this award. I am very fortunate to work with great people at the Law Society who work tremendously hard to provide the support and services our members look for.
"Vistage has also provided me with a great deal of support and new opportunities for learning. I now have a coach and a peer support group who are second to none. I don't believe the things I have done and the changes I have delivered at the Law Society would have developed in quite the same positive way that they have without Vistage at my side."
Bruce Beveridge, President of the Law Society, said: "Lorna has done tremendous work for the Law Society since her appointment five years ago and I, along with everyone at the Law Society, want to wish her every success. She is absolutely committed to making the Law Society an energised, outward looking and confident organisation. Her personal style of open enthusiasm and high energy inspires her colleagues throughout the organisation and her obvious passion for what she does, sets an example for all to follow."
The Vistage awards ceremony will be held in London on Friday, 7 February 2014, to mark its 25th year in the UK.
