CPD for New Lawyers

Update and the Scottish Young Lawyers Association (SYLA) are delighted to launch the autumn 2009 series of CPD for New Lawyers.

Courses are of direct interest and relevance to solicitors who are within 5 years post qualification as well as trainee solicitors and law students. There is a mixture of soft-skills training and general training which transcends practice areas. Further courses will be launched at the start of 2010 so keep checking the site.

The September 2009 - November 2009 seminar programme is now available and includes specific details of each course. Click here to see the programme.

The Society's former New Lawyers' Coordinator, Collette Paterson,  wrote in the Scotsman (download a PDF of that article from the right hand side of this page) and the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland on CPD for New Lawyers.

To suggest courses we should be running to meet the needs of new lawyers, contact Heather McPhee, Development Officer, Education and Training Policy  - newlawyers@lawscot.org.uk or  SYLA  - educating@syla.co.uk
