Getting Back to Work: Tools and Tips - FULLY BOOKED

CPD: 1 hours (Management)

THIS SEMINAR IS NOW FULLY BOOKED - PLEASE REGISTER YOUR INTEREST IN A POSSIBLE RE-RUN EVENT BY E-MAILING UPDATE@LAWSCOT.ORG.UK

This complimentary short seminar is designed to support and assist members of the profession during these challenging economic conditions. With the assistance of LawCare and Frasia Wright we hope to provide you with advise and the tools to return to work:

When one considers the number of CV’s that cross the desks of interviewing Partners and HR Professionals, it becomes very clear that it is important to get it right first time. Your job is to make sure that your CV gets you noticed and reflects your aspirations, personality and potential in a few pages. Ultimately, it is your CV that determines whether or not you will even reach interview stage - it is the best personal marketing tool you have. Securing an interview is only, however, the first step. The interview is your best opportunity to shine, but research has shown that less than 20% of interviewees do little or no preparation before an interview and do little or nothing to enhance their prospects of success. Preparation is crucial.
This session will attempt to provide you with the tools to prepare your CV to maximum effect, and to share FWA’s knowledge of what works and what doesn’t in a CV. We will also provide you with the advice and information you need to ensure that you are well prepared for interview and maximise every opportunity to your best advantage.’

LawCare will offer some practical suggestions for dealing with the emotional aspects of redundancy and/or lack of job security, and signpost available support to try to ensure candidates are in a strengthened position when seeking employment.
