About this course
The Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010 represents a new beginning for domestic and international arbitration in Scotland.

The University of Edinburgh, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Faculty of Advocates and The Law Society of Scotland in association with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors have joined together to organise an international conference to welcome the commencement of the new Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010.

Presented by some of the leading practitioners in Scotland and worldwide, this full day course will provide you with everything you need to know about the new Act.

The conference will include an analysis of the key provisions of the Act:

  • How it will be applied
  • When to use it
  • Why arbitration is a preferred remedy.

Comparisons will be made to established arbitration centres and the lessons learned.

There will also be an emphasis placed on the new opportunities for practitioners to use arbitration as a remedy, particularly in this tough financial climate, in Scotland and abroad.
