The Law Society’s members based outside Scotland are a significant part of the Scottish legal profession. We have a large number of members working in private practice and in-house in England, Wales and as registered foreign lawyers.

Our members in England and Wales play an important role in the UK legal sector, bringing a wide variety of knowledge and experience.

We have a diverse community of members working in many cities accross England and Wales including London, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham. Members work in a variety of sectors both in-house, in private practice and as independent consultants.

Whilst it is certainly rewarding and interesting to work in another jurisdiction there are inevitably differences and opportunities which our members encounter including the option of dual qualifying and regulation by another body.
