Join us on 5 August to find out about an in-house legal career in the UK Cabinet Office.

The UK Government has recently opened a civil service hub in Edinburgh to house 3,000 civil servants and 11 departments, including the Cabinet Office. A second civil service hub will also open in Glasgow, offering recruitment opportunities for legal professionals across Scotland interested in an in-house career in the civil service.

This session is aimed at trainees and newly qualified solicitors.

Our speaker at the event will be Lyn Mcdonald, OBE, who is Director of the Cabinet Office's Fraud, Error, Debt and Grants team, which is a centre of expertise in each area, setting standards, assuring performance and securing reductions in losses from fraud.

What we'll cover
  • What the new Cabinet Office hubs mean for Scotland and the legal community
  • How and why Edinburgh and Glasgow were chosen
  • How the Cabinet Office will operate from the cities
  • The recruitment opportunities available in the UK Civil Service for legal professionals based in Scotland
