This module is designed to help you understand the basic pinciples of what stress is and how it can manifest itself in the workplace. By following this interactive module, you will be able to:
- Understand how to identify stress, as well as what causes it;
- Be able to describe the effects stress may have on your working life;
- Start to develop strategies to manage stress.
It is important for managers to understand the responsibilities an employer has to help members of staff manage their stress, be able to identify stress within teams and know how what actions to take to create a more supportive environment.
As an employee, we all need to know how to take care of ourselves and what could be done to reduce negative stress we experience at work. It's essential you are able to identify your triggers and be able to communicate with your manager.
During this module, you can download a resource to complete yourself, to help you assess your stress levels and triggers. It will also encourage you to explore what elements of your work you may need to have a discussion with your manager about adapting, if you have identified them as sources of negative stress.
