Trainees have always been required to complete quarterly reviews with their supervising solicitors. However, as of 1 September 2011 the review process for trainees is referred to by the Society as PEAT 2 quarterly performance review (PQPR).
Prior to conducting a PQPR, both trainees and supervising solicitors should read the Society’s Guidance Notes for undertaking a PEAT 2 Quarterly Performance Reviews.
Some important information from this guidance is noted below:
- Your supervising solicitor information must be up-to-date. You can find this information in the PEAT 2 section of your Members' login area under the Trainee Data sub-section. The person that you select as your supervising solicitor will normally be the solicitor who will be undertaking your review with you. This should be discussed with your firm/training organisation. Our system will only allow you to select a supervisor who is based at the same office as yourself.
- If you have not received your login username and password, you should contact firstname.lastname@example.org. Trainee solicitors who have started their traineeship should have received these shortly after receiving their entrance certificate.
- The Society has developed a template PQPR form, for use by trainees and their supervising solicitors. If the template is used, once completed, this should be uploaded to the members' login area, as more fully explained in the PQPR guidance.
- There is a file size limit of 200kb for all completed PQPRs. A file size greater than this will not successfully upload to the members' login area. File size will be affected by the number of words used in a PQPR but this will also be dependent on formatting. Therefore, the Society advises that you note the file size of your completed PQPR before you attempt to upload this.
If you have any questions about PQPRs or problems uploading your review to our website, please contact email@example.com.
