Congratulations are in order for 33 of the Law Society of Scotland's members as they have been recognised for their work in their chosen fields.

Emma Hamilton, 2025’s winner of the Paralegal of the Year Award at the Scottish Legal Awards, became a mum at 19 and decided to juggle motherhood and a career in law to provide for her daughter. Now she reflects on this chapter in her life and what the future of a paralegal career looks like.

The course assumes little or no previous knowledge of data protection and will emphasise practical aspects of compliance and cover, in a practical context, the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003.
