The Law Society of Scotland has a new look

We’ve unveiled a new look reflecting the Law Society of Scotland’s central role in a modern, dynamic, inclusive and sustainable legal sector.

The new logo and branding coincides with the Society’s 75th anniversary celebrations.

The Law Society’s Council approved the new branding, which has been designed to work well in digital places and spaces. The new look is unmistakably Scottish, including colours inspired by national icons such as the thistle and saltire.

The Society’s coat of arms has also been refreshed to honour the solicitor profession’s long heritage and tradition. It will be reserved for select purposes such as formal documents and special occasions.

Please be aware that any communications or material purporting to be from the Law Society using our previous logo will likely be illegitimate and may have malicious origins.

Members

Many members and member firms advertise their affiliation with the Law Society of Scotland by displaying our logo in their email signatures and on their websites. This includes members who have achieved specialist accreditation, certifications, accredited paralegals, those who use the member logo and those using a Lawscot ID card.

We will be in contact with all members who we are aware currently use our logo to provide updated graphics in the weeks following the launch.

Updating the Law Society graphics that you use professionally demonstrates that you are legitimately connected with your professional body and regulator.

Commercial partners

For our valued commercial partners, we will be in contact with you to provide new marques which you can use to confirm your association with the Society.

Expert Witness members

We will be issuing new logos for those who are part of our Expert Witness Directory in the next couple of weeks.
