Arlene Gibbs
Arlene is a Principal Solicitor at Aberdeenshire Council and has spent her entire legal career working in-house within local government. Qualifying in 2013, she went on to gain experience in contracts and commercial projects, before taking a solicitor role at Aberdeenshire Council in 2015 specialising in planning law. Arlene currently leads the Council’s democratic services team, which has a focus on governance, ethical standards, and quasi-judicial decision making. Arlene was elected as Law Society Council Member for Aberdeen, Banff, Peterhead and Stonehaven in May 2023. She is also a Vice Convener of the In-House Lawyers Committee and a member of the Planning Law Sub-Committee.
