Diane Nicol

Partner
Pinsent Masons

Diane is a senior partner in Pinsent Masons’ Employment Practice Group and has over 25 years' experience in the employment law field. She was recently appointed to the Government's Taylor Review into Modern Employment Practices.

She has significant experience in industrial relations advising on numerous high profile matters, including providing strategic advice recently for two major global plc's who were recently threatened with strike action, advising a subsidiary of a major global plc on using positive action provisions; supporting and advising on a complex, sensitive grievance for another major plc relating to a very senior employee and defending and resolving a complex sex and disability claim for another plc client.

She has been personally rated in the top tier of the independent directory Chambers for many years and in Legal 500 along with the fantastic PM employment team which is also top ranked . She has been described by major players in the FS and Energy Sectors as "really smart and truly commercial and someone I always want on my side", "someone who comes off the fence and gives a view" and is "truly pragmatic". She is also very well known and regarded for her excellent client relationship skills.

She comments regularly in the broadsheets, on radio, most recently about the Southern Rail strikes on Radio London and she spoke last month at the SCDI Conference.
