Naeema commenced her legal career as a political researcher and thereafter policy advisor before embarking on her traineeship with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service. Naeema served as a Procurator Fiscal Depute for several years before moving in to private practice, were she specialised in family law. Naeema practised family law exclusively for 12 years and was a former partner at Drummond Miller and Aberdein Considine. She was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Family Law and as a Family Law Mediator.
Naeema is recognised for her excellent advocacy and negotiation skills, and has appeared in Sheriff Courts the length and breadth of Scotland.
Naeema is a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Family Law Sub Committee and a former trustee of Family Mediation Lothian's.
In August 2019, Naeema retired from private practice to concentrate on her family life and devote more time to her volunteering roles. Naeema has recently set up a business consultancy, called Diversity+.
