  6. 2018 Annual Conference

The 2018 annual conference brought together over 300 people and saw keynote presentations from President of the Supreme Court, Baroness Hale on 'The contribution of Scottish cases to developing United Kingdom law'; Harvard Law School Distinguished Fellow, Dr Heidi Gardner on 'Smart Collaboration'; Aidan O’Neill QC on 'Brexit and beyond' as well as a fascinating closing discussion with Lord Hope.

The exhibition provided a lively atmosphere, ideal for encouraging and enabling networking amongst all attendees, something that was evident from the buzz in the exhibition area.

There was a huge range of optional sessions throughout the day, including TED style talks on Brexit and ‘Budgets, relationships and ethics’ for in-house lawyers; panel sessions on ‘How to attract and retain future leaders’ and ‘Diversity and the gender pay gap’; Tech demonstrations on ‘Cyberattacks and hacks’ and sessions on Risk awareness.

Our fringe programme made its second appearance and included chair yoga as part of our Lawscot Wellbeing workshop; a marketing masterclass on how to motivate your millennials; tech demonstrations as well as surgeries on Executive coaching and drop in sessions with JABs and experienced Solicitor Advocates.
