AI, sustainability and the law – what legal professionals need to know

This free online event will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of sustainability, for better and for worse, and what this means for the legal profession.

The session will be led by Dr Isabel DiVanna, a sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) expert from the Carbon Trust. Topics she will cover include:

  • Environmental impacts vs benefits – the footprint of AI, data centre infrastructure and supply chains
  • AI and the law – from analysing sustainability and ESG data to cross-jurisdictional reporting
  • Responsible use and new parameters to remove bias

We'll also be joined by members of the Law Society's Sustainability Committee who will provide insight on the discussions their firms and in-house teams are having around AI and sustainability.

Whether you are advising clients on ESG matters, using AI tools in your own practice, or simply interested in the intersection of law, ethics, sustainability and technology, this session is a chance to deepen your understanding and ask questions.

To register for a place or if you have any questions, please email us at sustainability@lawscot.org.uk.
