This session will help participants understand the fundamentals of mental health and the pervasive influence of social media in our lives. Explore the potential problems associated with excessive social media use and strategies to safeguard wellbeing in the digital age. Take charge of your mental health and digital habits today!

Session Content

  • Learn the definitions of mental health
  • Develop an understanding of what is social media, how it is used and why people use it.
  • Become aware of the problems associated with social media use
  • Learn about personal use of social media and its addictive qualities
  • Gain an understanding of the concern for others as a parent or employer
  • Discover how to find balance and look after your wellbeing

Speaker

This session will be delivered by Danny Quinn, Workplace Training Specialist for Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH). Celebrating over 100 years supporting mental health in Scotland, SAMH operates over 70 services in communities across Scotland and has a wealth of support resources on their website.  samh.org.uk
