Understanding Happiness – with James McFarlane

Join solicitor James McFarlane, who is a founder of the Law Society’s Men’s Wellbeing group, as he helps us understand happiness and what it means to us while providing some useful tips on how to incorporate happiness into our busy lives. Let's be intentionally happy!

Who is the session for?

This session is for anyone in the legal industry

Session Content

James will be covering the following themes and offer a call to action – asking you to be more  deliberate to make yourself happy.

  • What is happiness?
  • What does happiness mean to you?
  • What makes you happy?
  • Is happiness the aim?

James is Legal Counsel in NatWest Group’s Outsourcing, Technology and IP team, based in Edinburgh. He is from Glasgow and completed both his LLB and Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. James is also a founding member of the Men’s Wellbeing Group for those involved in the legal profession in Scotland and is keen to help remove the stigma around men's mental health and to create a safe space and community for men to talk and create connections. He is also a LawScot foundation mentor and a LawCare champion.
