2019 Scottish legal award winner blogs Firm’s steadfast values lead to award win

5th September 2019 | Law Society news

Julie Harris, Partner at Allan McDougall Solicitors talks about how their client orientated focus and a different approach to working with them led to winning Litigation Team of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards 2019.

Julie says “Allan McDougall Solicitors’ personal injury team recently won the Litigation Team of the Year award in the Scottish Legal Awards 2019, against formidable competition.

With a rich heritage going back to the 1920s, we remain steadfastly true to our founder’s values: first class litigation, with a culture of justice for the ordinary person. Widely recognised as approachable experts, we have one of the largest personal injury teams in Scotland, securing millions of pounds in compensation each year for hundreds of clients throughout the country.

Our different approach to working with clients, allowing them to retain all their compensation in most cases, demonstrates our genuinely client-oriented focus. With excellence in client service delivery, evidenced by actual results, being one of our main drivers, we are delighted to receive consistently first-rate feedback from clients.

The past year was a momentous one for our team. In addition to increasing overall fee income, with new sources of work and a more diversified client base, we achieved more than first offered in almost every case. We also increased referrals from other firms that we guide on All-Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court procedures and act as their agent via our Injury Compensation Alliance.

During the year we also further strengthened our senior team, with the appointment of two partners and an associate. And a third new partner has been attracted to join us since the award win.

Our success is facilitated by excellent collaboration with the superb QCs, advocates and medical experts instructed in our cases. Along with excellent client reviews, their outstanding feedback on their experience of working with us was one of the main reasons we won the award.

Our team has been thrilled to win this award. It’s a tremendous motivational boost to be recognised for all their hard work and dedication."
