St. James’s Place announced as Law Society of Scotland strategic partner

21st October 2021 | Professional support

Leading wealth management business St. James’s Place has joined the Law Society of Scotland’s strategic partnership programme to provide wealth management and financial planning expertise and support for Scottish solicitors and their clients.

St. James’s Place, a FTSE 100 business, helps clients with a wide range of needs from pensions and protection to complex issues such as inheritance tax, retirement planning and investing for income or growth.

Paul Mosson, Executive Director of Member Services and Engagement at the Law Society of Scotland said: “Solicitors are trusted advisors to clients who seek to preserve, grow and ultimately pass on their assets as well as those needing specialised financial structuring for matters such as family disputes and personal injury settlements.

“Throughout a very competitive tender process, St. James’s Place impressed us with their deep understanding of the legal sector and their extensive network of financial advisers across Scotland. We’re looking forward to working closely with them as our strategic partners to support our members in all aspects of financial planning with clients, as well as offering expert advice to solicitors as individuals and businesses themselves.”

As strategic partners St. James’s Place will provide resources for Scottish solicitors through articles, CPD training and practice area updates focusing on the latest developments in wills and estate management, trusts, charity work and tax matters as well as considering the relationship between financial planning and wellbeing.

Paul Ainslie, Head of Partnerships at St. James’s Place said: “I am delighted that St. James’s Place is partnering with the Law Society of Scotland to give access to expert financial advice to members, their clients and the broader legal sector community.

“In a world of call centres and robo-advice we believe passionately in the face-to-face approach and that’s why we have developed a network of St. James’s Place Partners across Scotland and indeed the UK, who are among the country’s leading financial advice professionals and will provide the highest quality of personalised service.”
