Where do you see yourself in 10 years' time? Analyse your options at our upcoming career development roadshow

17th January 2019 | Career growth

Do you aspire to be a partner, senior manager in-house or an accredited specialist, or are you not quite sure what direction your career might take? We're bringing our career development roadshow back this year, designed to showcase career options in the legal profession and visiting four different cities. Come along and hear from our panel of solicitors who've carved out their own unique careers.

We're delighted that Brewin Dolphin are partnering up with us to host some of these events and offering up their space for our members. They'll do a short introduction about how they can also be of service as you progress your career, or provide materials for you to take away.

We first ran these events in November 2017 and received great feedback. This year we're launching a new careers strategy, so want to keep developing the careers support we provide to you as our members.

For the first time, we're hosting one of our events in London, as we know there are so many members based south of the border who still want to develop their career in Scots Law.

Our speakers

We'll bring together a mix of panelists to talk about their own experiences, which will be a mix of partners, senior in-house lawyers, accredited specialists, solicitor advocates and more. Each event will host a different mix of speakers, but will contain plenty of food for thought.

Who are these events for?

If you're thinking about how to map out your career, this event is designed for you. If you're an NQ starting to think about the long-term plan, or several years qualified considering whether it might be time for the next step or a new direction, it's a good opportunity to really focus on your career path for the future.

Where can I attend?

We have events scheduled across Scotland, so you can attend at a venue close to you.

Edinburgh: Tuesday 12 March 2019, Law Society of Scotland
Glasgow: Thursday 14 March 2019, Brewin Dolphin
London: Tuesday 19 March 2019, Brewin Dolphin
Aberdeen: Monday 25 March 2019, Society of Advocates

Please note all our events take place from 6-8pm. Drinks and light refreshments are provided. All events are free to attend.
