Associate level promotions announced at Digby Brown

15th December 2016 | careers

Digby Brown has announced four promotions to associate or equivalent across its Edinburgh, Dundee and Inverness offices.

David McGowan and Sam Cowie, both members of the personal injury team in Inverness, become associates, as does Mark Nicholson, an asbestos injury disease specialist in Edinburgh. Laura Campbell becomes manager of Digby Brown’s First Response Unit (FRU), having previously been supervisor in the same department.

All of the individuals promoted have been with Digby Brown for a substantial part of their careers. Mr McGowan joined the firm in 2010, initially as part of the First Response Unit before undertaking his traineeship and moving to Inverness. Mr Cowie joined Digby Brown in Inverness in 2012, having completed his traineeship with a Highland firm. Mr Nicholson has been with Digby Brown since starting his traineeship with the firm in 2007, while Ms Campbell has been at Digby Brown since 2009 and part of its First Response Unit since 2012.

Chief executive Fraser Oliver commented: “These are an important set of promotions which highlight our plans to grow further as a business across Scotland and across different areas of personal injury practice.

"I am delighted that David, Sam and Mark are now Associates and to announce a promotion for Laura, reflecting the work she does in an absolutely crucial part of our business.

“As with previous promotions, all of these individuals have been with us for a substantial part of their legal careers. We know that to keep delivering for clients, we need talented people throughout the firm and to be able to offer people fulfilling and rewarding careers."

He added: “As the first law firm in the UK to achieve Platinum Accreditation from Investors in People, we set ourselves the highest standards when it comes to managing and looking after colleagues throughout the business.”
