Borders firms Hastings and Doughtys Legal merge

Borders legal practice Hastings Legal has announced the amalgamation of Doughtys WS with the firm.

Founded in 1840, Doughtys WS practised in Ayton for over 150 years and in 2011 moved to Eyemouth. The combined practice will continue to operate from the existing premises at 3 & 7 Church Street. In advance of the amalgamation Hastings' legal director Ricky Hope has been working there alongside the existing Eyemouth staff and Doughtys’ sole partner, Marina Kerr, who will remain at the office. Hastings' head of Property, Suzanne Smith will also work alongside the existing Doughtys staff.

The office will be rebranded and refurbished with Hastings Legal's new modern corporate branding. The firm also operates from Kelso, Selkirk and Duns.
