Brodies takes second title at Legal Business Awards

24th March 2017

Brodies LLP, Scotland's largest home-based law firm, was last night named UK National/Regional Law Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards in London.

Now in their 20th year, the awards, hosted by Legal Business magazine, recognise the achievements of lawyers working in the UK and overseas. The UK National/Regional award, which Brodies won previously in 2015, is presented to the UK firm headquartered outside London that has made the most significant strategic advances over the past year.

The judges’ decision was based on research carried out by Legal Business, Legal 500 and independent legal experts into the quality of legal services, sustained growth and new business wins. The panel stated that Brodies had "posted yet another exceptional year in 2015-16, cementing its position as the leading Scottish independent. With the independence referendum, the oil price collapse and Brexit creating difficult times north of the border, to post market-leading financial performance and organic growth is exceptional".

Managing partner Bill Drummond, who collected the award on behalf of the firm, commented: “Receiving this award is a great honour for everyone at Brodies, especially noting the excellent firms which submitted and were shortlisted. We must, of course, first and foremost thank our clients for recognising the investment we’ve made over the years in our efforts to provide them with legal services of the highest standard in Scotland, and we’re obviously pleased to see that this has also been recognised by peers in our profession."
