BTO announces 10 associate promotions

5th February 2018 | careers

BTO Solicitors has announced the promotion of 10 senior solicitors to associate level.

Seven of them operate in the firm’s Insurers’ Representation team, which is one of the largest in Scotland. They are: Alistair Barbour, Angus Gillies, Lewis Richardson and Callum Sweeney, who all specialise in handling personal injury claims below £500,000; Mark Hastings and Jennifer Mackenzie, who deal with personal injury claims valued over £500,000; and Gillian Harman from the Professional Liability team.

The others are Emma Donaldson, who specialises in advising on wills, tax planning, trusts and estates; Lesley Grant from the firm’s Employment Law team, who practises contentious and non-contentious employment law; and Jamie Reekie, a solicitor advocate who works alongside Tony Jones QC in BTO’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Edinburgh.

Chairman Alan Borthwick commented: “I am delighted that these 10 hardworking individuals from a range of disciplines have been promoted and that their contribution to the firm and to the clients with whom they work has been acknowledged.”
