Burness Paull reports further double digit growth

21st August 2015 | practice management

A strong performance by Burness Paull, one of Scotland's largest legal practices, has produced double digit growth in its results for the year to 31 July 2015.

Revenue was up by 11%, from £46.3m to £51.3m, while profits gained 12%, rising from £20.7m to £23.2m. The figures come on top of growth of more than 20% in the previous year.

All staff will share in the rewards with a bonus equlvalent to 7.5% of salary.

Factors contributing to the growth are said to be further growth in its international work, a record number of deals for the corporate finance team, and strong activity for the firm's banking, projects, property, employment and dispute resolution teams.

Chairman Philip Rodney claimed that the firm had increased its market share through significant new client instructions, and its performance since the firm was created from the merger between Edinburgh and Glasgow based Burness and Aberdeen's Paull & Williamsons, in December 2012, had exceeded expectations.

Its current strength is 58 partners and a total of 410 staff.
