Burness's Mandy Laurie to take over at WS Society

5th June 2018 | careers

The next head of the WS Society has been announced as Mandy Laurie WS, an employment partner at Burness Paull.

A Signet-accredited employment lawyer, Ms Laurie will take over as Deputy Keeper of the Signet on 1 January 2019 from Caroline Docherty, who stands down at the end of this year after 10 years in office.

Lord Mackay of Clashfern, Keeper of the Signet, commented: "I'm particularly happy at the news that Mandy will become the second woman to hold the position of Deputy Keeper.

"Caroline's term in office has been transformational. I have no doubt that Mandy will be a worthy successor."

Peter Lawson, chairman-elect at Burness Paull, added: "Mandy is an exceptional lawyer and role model, and as a firm we are very proud to see her take up this prestigious position within the WS Society.

"I am certain she will make a valuable contribution to the Society's work."
