Civil Justice Council reaches out with "Winter Tour" roadshow

13th October 2015 | civil litigation

The Scottish Civil Justice Council (SCJC) will visit seven locations round Scotland on a "Winter Tour" in which local court users and staff will be able to hear about the court reform rules recently put in place, as well as upcoming changes.

Topics to be covered include the civil Sheriff Appeal Court, which comes into effect in January, and the new simple procedure, expected later next year.

The informal, one-hour sessions will also offer the chance to provide feedback on the Council’s work.

Events will be held in the following sheriff courts: Kilmarnock (5 November), Dumfries (12 November), Aberdeen (18 November), Inverness (19 November), Glasgow (26 November), Perth (3 December) and S Selkirk (10 December). All events will take place from 4.15-5.30pm.

Places are limited and anyone wishing to come along should register by emailing scjc@scotcourts.gov.uk indicating which session you would like to attend and in what capacity, e.g. solicitor, voluntary organisation etc.
