Digby Brown reports a record year

19th December 2014 | practice management

Specialist personal injury and employment law practice Digby Brown has reported another strong year of growth.

Results for the year to 31 March 2014 show turnover increasing by 17% from £19.9m in 2012-13 to £23.3m in 2013-14, representing an increase of 17%, while profits jumped by 36% from £6.6m to £9m.

Since the year end, Digby Brown has opened its Aberdeen office to add to its presence in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Inverness and Kirkcaldy. Over the past year it says its "proudest achievement" is to have recovered £85m for clients. It also claims to be the first Scottish law firm to be accredited as a living wage employer. The firm employs over 230 staff in total.

Chief executive Fraser Oliver commented: “It has been another good year for the firm with unprecedented growth, and these figures are just the headline of what has been a real team effort by everyone in Digby Brown.

“The legal market has changed both in terms of business generation and the ability for clients to obtain access to justice.

“Our success to date has been to adapt and to continue to grow as a legal business in Scotland. We give our clients an affordable way to obtain access to justice using our lauded Compensate funding scheme [which] allows other firms and their clients access to Digby Brown for both funding and our legal expertise.”
