DWF makes double Glasgow litigation hire

28th March 2018 | careers

Legal practice DWF has made two appointments to its Glasgow office to boost its debt recovery and finance litigation team.

Partner Ricky Cannon and associate Neale Tosh join from Brodies, where they specialised in business disputes and asset recovery.

Mr Cannon's practice includes commercial litigation, finance litigation, debt recovery and insolvency. He regularly acts for banks, asset finance lenders, financial institutions, utility companies, insolvency practitioners and debt purchasers, and has a particular interest and focus on motor and finance litigation. Mr Tosh specialises in debt and asset recovery, and has particular experience in vehicle finance litigation, volume debt recovery and personal and corporate insolvency.

John Perez, DWF's national head of finance litigation, commented: "With Ricky's legal expertise, commercially-focused approach and leadership skills, he will make a strong addition to the team. His appointment will play a vital part in our continued expansion of the litigation practice both in Scotland, Northern Ireland and throughout the UK. Ricky is somebody I have known and worked closely with for a long time and I'm absolutely delighted he and Neale are joining our growing team."

Paul Pignatelli, executive partner of DWF Glasgow, added: "Having established the finance litigation and debt recovery unit at Brodies, Ricky has a breadth of knowledge in the current Scottish market. Alongside his strong commercial expertise, his appointment will play a vital part in our continued expansion of the litigation practice both in Scotland and throughout the UK."
