Faculty begins Christmas collection for needy families

12th December 2017

Donations are now being taken by the Faculty of Advocates for its annual Christmas collection in aid of vulnerable families.

All this week, presents, treats or cash (which can be Gift Aided) will be collected, ready to be driven to Fife on Saturday and distributed by the family support charity, Home-Start Glenrothes.

As in previous years, Faculty hopes to deliver gifts for parents as well as children, so gifts for adults will be greatly appreciated.

Maria Maguire QC, who has organised the collection, commented: "Members of Faculty and staff have been very generous in embracing this cause, and we are hoping once again to make the season as happy as we can for these families.

"In the last years the initiative has also received great contributions from outwith the Faculty including the judiciary, solicitor colleagues and friends and family of members and staff. All donations are welcome and invaluable. Knowing that such widespread support is there makes a real difference to the families."
