Harper Macleod expands in Inverness

10th November 2015 | careers

Legal firm Harper Macleod has appointed two associates to its Inverness office, as it expands its operation in the city.

Ewan Stafford, an employment law specialist previously with Macleod & MacCallum, joins as an associate, as does commercial property solicitor Emma Linn, who most recently worked for Anderson, Shaw & Gilbert.

The firm’s increased capacity in the city has led it to take on its first full-time Inverness trainee solicitor, Karyn Mackay.

Chris Kerr, lead partner of Harper Macleod’s operation in the Highlands and Islands, commented: “We have doubled our office space in Inverness and are constantly looking for talented lawyers to join the team so we are delighted to welcome Emma, Ewan and Karyn. Emma is already a well regarded name in the local commercial property market and will be a valuable addition to our real estate department in the north of Scotland, while Ewan has already hit the ground running in our award-winning employment team.”

He added: “We have had many trainees in Inverness over the years but until now they have also spent part of their time in our other offices to gain the full breadth of our commercial law experience. Our expanded operation means that the traineeship can now be carried out entirely from Inverness and Karyn will be the first of many to benefit from this.”
