Lateral partner hire for Anderson Strathern

3rd October 2017 | careers

Legal firm Anderson Strathern has made a senior lateral hire to its commercial real estate team with English qualified partner Iain Grieve joining the firm.

Mr Grieve was formerly with HBJ Gateley, which merged with Addleshaw Gorrard in June.

Having also spent time in the City with Dentons and Nabarro Nathanson, he is now working with Anderson Strathern’s commercial real estate and English property teams around growth sectors in development, including build to rent, healthcare and retirement living, and hotel and leisure.

He commented: "London and the south east remain dominant as an investment destination in the UK and I can see great opportunity for the firm to further establish its presence and relationships there, as well as across the rest of the UK. Anderson Strathern already has an excellent team in place and I believe there is significant potential for an expert and agile team to make real impact in the market. In terms of industry themes as we approach the end of 2017, Brexit, currency movement and transaction costs remain to the fore."

Bruce Farquhar, chair at Anderson Strathern, added: "Iain is a specialist in his field and brings a strong track record of working not only with some of the UK’s most highly rated law firms but also alongside funders, developers, investors and other key intermediaries across the commercial real estate sector. As a firm, we have been building cross-border activity and stronger links with London for a number of years now and having Iain in place continues this strategic course."
