Lawyer wins "Young Professionals Green Energy" award

3rd June 2015

A solicitor has won the Professional category in the inaugural Young Professionals Green Energy Awards, held by Scottish Renewables.

Stephanie Mill, who works for Shepherd & Wedderburn, took the title for her work in offshore wind projects in both Scotland and England. During the nomination stage, managers on projects on which Stephanie has worked, commented on her “sheer hard work and determination to deliver an excellent legal service at all times”.

Established with the aim of recognising talent and innovation in the renewable energy sector, the awards were announced at a ceremony at the Glasgow Science Centre. Other categories included an Academic Award, a Pioneer Award, a Leader Award, an Innovator Award, an Achiever Award, an Entrepreneur Award and an Artist Award.

Jillian McKenna, director of marketing at Scottish Renewables, commented: “Our winners perfectly demonstrate the vital contribution young professionals are making to the success of renewable energy. People like Dr Eve Bird show how academia plays such a huge role in what is still a young industry, while talented lawyers and consultants like Stephanie Mill and Vijay Bhopal, who won the Professional and Entrepreneur Awards respectively, shows how crucial professional support is to ensuring the success of projects.”
