Lindsays acquires Brodies' personal injury team

27th February 2017 | careers , practice management

Legal firm Lindsays announced today that it has acquired the personal injury business of Brodies, the largest Scottish-headquartered legal firm.

Partners David Armstrong and Jonathan Cornwell have joined Lindsays, along with their 18-strong team of solicitors, paralegals and support staff. Brodies made the strategic decision to divest, in order to make the primary focus of its insurance and risk practice on serving the needs of corporate and insurer clients.

The acquisition takes Lindsays' partner strength to 48, with more than 220 staff in five offices around Scotland.

Managing partner Alasdair Cummings commented: “Lindsays has had a long involvement in personal injury work, so this acquisition is an excellent opportunity for us to build upon the existing experience we have in our dispute resolution and litigation group. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to David, Jonathan and their team.”

Mr Armstrong added: “Jonathan and I are delighted to be joining Lindsays. Lindsays is a first rate firm which is clearly going places and set to significantly grow its dispute resolution practice over the next strategic period. We are pleased to be part of these ambitious plans."
